Camille Elsbury LCSW

Providing Therapy in Colorado and California

Hello there, I’m Camille

Welcome! I am an Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing psychotherapy in Colorado and virtually in California. It would be my honor to walk alongside you as you heal. Learn more below or contact me here.

  • Going to therapy takes courage. I provide a warm, compassionate space, grounded in unconditional positive regard, in order to go deeper in exploring how past experiences may be impacting your sense of self. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and you already have the means within yourself to heal. Therapy can help you access that inner strength and wisdom.

  • I work with individual adults of all ages and couples. Clients who tend to benefit most from our work together are often highly sensitive, high achieving, or perfectionistic. You may be struggling with relationships, anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem. Whether you’re brand new to therapy or not, you are welcome here.

  • I utilize modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Accelerated Experiential Psychodynamic Therapy (AEDP), attachment-focused therapy, mindfulness, somatic approaches, and self-compassion in order to help you transform negative beliefs and bring you true freedom and lasting peace.

For couples, I am trained in and utilize both the Gottman method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).

  • I grew up in San Diego, California and received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, and my Master’s of Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. I am a licensed therapist in both Colorado and California.

Being able to do this work gives me a deep sense of purpose and joy. I see therapy as one piece of the puzzle in achieving inner peace. For me, the things that ground and sustain me are nature, community, laughter, and movement. I am grateful to live in Steamboat Springs where I can connect with nature, peace, and harmony - all values which I bring into work with my clients.

  • I see clients in person in Steamboat Springs and virtually anywhere in California or Colorado.

  • Therapy is a collaborative process, and the length of time depends on your unique goals. Typically, we’ll start with weekly sessions to build momentum, then gradually shift to biweekly or monthly as you feel more confident. Many clients choose to check in occasionally for support as needed. My goal is for you to feel at peace, empowered, and ready to move forward.

  • You might know you’re safe. Or loved. Or not alone. But why don’t you feel that way? Childhood trauma can wire our brains to stay in survival mode. We develop protective mechanisms that helped us cope at the time, but now keep us stuck in unhelpful or harmful patterns. EMDR helps reprocess those early experiences from the inside out. By working directly with the nervous system, EMDR supports the brain in creating new, more adaptive neural pathways. EMDR helps you feel the safety, connection, and calm that you might already understand logically.
